I come from a place where the air is free of pollution, where the drinking water is for free and as good as the fanciest bottled water. Where education is for free and we are free to say what we think. We are so incredible free that we’re neutral!
I’m from Switzerland, a country blessed with countless freedoms but no beaches. Growing up doing all kinds of sports and loving most of them, it was probable my joy of swimming in a lake and feeling the sun kiss my skin mixed with the delight of snowboarding that made me want to try surfing. I went to France to a surf camp and fell in love with it instantly. For the next few years i lived the same life as most land locked surfer. Surf 2 weeks a year and dream of it for the other 50. As this wasn’t a good balance, i started to save up money, got rid of some stuff i didn’t need anymore and bought a ticket to Australia. My initial plan was to be away for 7 month, that’s now more that 7 years ago!
I hope to give you a few ideas and to encourage some of you to do what you want to do, doesn’t matter if this is a trip around the world or just something small.
